| Super Bowl blur over, Coughlin gets back to work
A year ago, Tom Coughlin was here at the annual scouting combine, looking for players to plug holes in an 8-8 roster that at times was falling apart at the seams. Do you think back then he had any idea that he was about to uncover the key pieces to a Super Bowl championship run? “I had it all mapped out," Coughlin deadpanned today. “I knew this would be taking place." OK, so it's not that simple. But he and the rest of the Giants' staff are here trying to work some draft magic again. First, though, Coughlin took a half hour out of his busy schedule to sign some autographs (no Jacksonville Jaguars paraphernalia, please), accept some congratulations, and address the media. Here are some highlights from his 13 minutes at the podium: On what the last three weeks have been like: “It's a blur, the way that goes.
Scooters, sushi draw Yale grads to Google
NEW YORK — Just over a decade ago, Lisa Farley '96 was a psychology major filing through the card catalog at Cross Campus Library. Today, Cross Campus is Bass, card catalogs gather dust and Farley — despite an initial preference for heavy tomes and dog-eared pages over technical innovation — works at Google. Farley may have taken an unexpected path to the search-engine giant, but she said she is now enamored of her job. But even the excitement of the many Yale students who pursue jobs at Fortune Magazine's 2007 “Best Company to Work For" is surpassed by the enthusiasm of many — many “Googlers," that is — at Google's massive new Manhattan warehouse-turned-office. “How could you not love working at Google?" Farley asked. “I ride a scooter from one end of the building to another and eat free sushi for lunch." But Farley, who said she frequents the sushi station in the cafeteria — which also serves, free of charge, culinary treats like butternut squash ravioli with sweet-braised short rib ragu — said Google's gastronomical flair and other eccentricities serve not as distractions, but as attractions to work.

The view from the Bridge
There is also a built-in slide-show feature that allows you to rate and label images as you view them. Workflow improvements include better automation, improved searching, and batch processing that now span the entire suite. Bridge also eases color management by automatically synchronizing color settings throughout all the CS apps (this feature is not available if you purchase the apps individually). In addition to opening documents, Bridge lets you place files into Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign documents, making it a very effective command center. Bridge—through its handy Bridge Center interface—provides a portal to Adobe's new stock photo service, which sells images from PhotoDisk, ComStock, DigitalVision, and others. Though the feature doesn't provide access to anything you can't get from a Web site, it gives you one interface that lets you search multiple stock libraries with one command.
CBC should receive stable, multi-year funding: report
I actually think they all do a pretty bad job. CBC needs public funding with stricter guidelines to what is shown. For instance, Jpod is a great show so is Tudors and LIttle Mosque shows viewership Rick Mercer and 22minutes are a bit tired but they are at least doing a better job of news than the rest of Canadian tv media. I think CBC needs to re-format into several stations, like the BBC. And lastly, if thes CONs want to drop public funding and the television fund, then ya CBC needs a 'capital investment' which can be paid back. This CBC bashing isn't helping Canadian identity. I am sure we are all tired of jsut being known for an old beaver and those mountie uniforms. BTW, jimmy, did you realise the acts that were at the Grammys this year? and all the other reward shows? ALL Canadian.
