Hip-Hop Rumors: Lauryn Hill Had Her Baby? Timbaland The Slave?

OUCH! I don't know if 50 is like me and remembers Paris using the N-Word, but I heard that he dissed the crap out of the heiress. Read the AHH Report right here!

Here is what Page Six said about the whole ordeal. They were there.

During his performance at the Paris Hilton-hosted pre-Super Bowl party for 944 magazine last night, 50 Cent gave a shout out to Paris, who then started singing in the front row.

Paris and 50 are good friends.

When the princess decided to get onstage and dance, the hip-hopper's crew and stagehands quickly instructed her to "Get the f**k off the stage." She started to cry and tried to plead with the party's production staff to let her dance, whining, "But it's my party!"

Nobody cares if it's your party.

The Judgment.

Only yesterday my friend in school showed me a violent rally being carried in Geo, and questioned me is this how Pakistani's are? Ashamed, I was left speechless. I guess some body has to get these people to shut up! Whats the problem with them? One day they say that Supreme Court is an independant organization dedicated in assuring the rule of law. And when this "lawful organization" verdicts against them then this independant organization becomes "an organization being pressurized by the dictator." If they can't gather enough support for themselves than they have no right to question those who are elected by the People of Pakistan.

Microsoft CFO Says Yahoo Would Play Role In Software Strategy

A top Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) executive on Monday said Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) could play an important role in the tech superpower's embrace of the growing trend of selling software as a Web-based service.

Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Chris Liddell cited Yahoo's potential role in response to a question on how the major shift in the way software is sold could affect the tech company's business model - even as he maintained that Microsoft is still weighing its options after the board of Yahoo rejected its acquisition offer.

Microsoft emerged as tech behemoth by selling software mainly as a shrink- wrapped product from which it derived hefty profits from licensing and other fees. However, a growing number of tech companies have shifted to a new business model in which customers, particularly businesses, pay a fee for access to software programs through the Web.

Boxer accepts Big challenge for WrestleMania

The Big Show-sized gauntlet has been thrown down, and six-time boxing champ Floyd Money Mayweather has accepted his challenge from the Big Show for WrestleMania 24 on Sunday, March 30 from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

The 7-0 Big Show goaded the 5-8 Mayweather into accepting a future one-on-one match one night after their controversial melee at WWE's pay-per-view No Way Out on Sunday, Feb. 17 from Las Vegas.

Mayweather peppered the monolithic former WWE and ECW champ with punches after he made a surprise return and began roughing up Mayweather's injured friend Rey Mysterio.

Initially, Big Show seemed cordial to the boxing champion on Raw on Monday, Feb. 18 apologizing publicly to the Honda Center crowd and fans worldwide for his actions Sunday night.

Rolen says Toronto fans will take to Eckstein as their shortstop

Scott Rolen, who feuded with St. Louis manager Tony La Russa in recent years, is definitely gone from St. Louis. The All-Star third baseman was upbeat as he arrived Tuesday at Toronto's camp.

"It's exciting," said Rolen, traded from St. Louis to the Blue Jays for Troy Glaus. "It's like going to a new school or your first day of school. You walk in and you don't see or know anybody, it's challenging and exciting at the same time."

Rolen will play alongside former St. Louis teammate David Eckstein. The Blue Jays signed the 5 1/2 -foot shortstop as a free agent.

"The fans will take a liking to him right away," Rolen said. "He's the little engine that could. He's going to be running around out here like his hair's on fire."

Autonomy’s renaissance

The problem with staring at the horizon is that it becomes easy to trip. The UK software darling Autonomy has undoubted potential. It is the market leader in “unstructured search" – clever software that can grasp context and identify relationships across a variety of files, from e-mail and spreadsheets to audio and video. It can listen to call centre conversations, for example, and suggest actions to staff as they speak, cutting down on training needs. Duplication of effort can be avoided in large and disparate organisations. Productivity gains as yet undiscovered lie in wait for businesses who can better exploit information not gathered up into neat databases.

So the grand hope is that Autonomy's technology will become embedded into the very infrastructure of business software.

Archives for: February 2008 , 09

It's been a while since I've posted. School, work, play - you know, general life stuff that tends to get in the way. But rest assured that I AM going to make a concentrated effort to update this thing more often because there are a lot of really great things going on.

Like tonight: Daniel Johnston at Slowdown. It's gonna be real interesting, and good to boot. Eighteen bucks to see a legendary singer-songwriter. Plus, I haven't seen Flowers Forever yet, and I've heard mixed reviews...very anxious to decide for myself. On a very unrelated note, today I read an excellent article in the Jan. 28 New Yorker on the Obama/Clinton race. I'm not well versed in politics, and frankly, not terribly interested in them either. But this article made me think about the differences in ideology of the two candidates, which was really great.

The USA and Mexico: Election Fencing and Immigration

Today, some 44 of the sector's 66 miles (105.6 kilometers) are walled.

Mike Nicley, a retired border patrol chief who worked in San Diego when the fence was constructed, told ISN Security Watch that once they had built the fence, one section that remained open in the Low Tide Mesa area became a focal point for vehicle chasings, shootouts and other high levels of illegal cross-border activity.

And this is the core argument for those who oppose any form of border fence. The illegal immigrants will come, they say, independent of a walled segment. It's like placing a rock in the middle of a river. The flow will simply find another way around.

Some who argue in favor of a fence – or "increased border security" as careful politicians phrase the issue – insist that an actual physical barrier near urban areas makes sense, while a virtual fence in more rural areas is the best option.

First Responders Say Advanced Technology Critical for Effectiveness

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) today released the findings of a national survey to assess how public safety organizations use current communications technology and what future capabilities they would deploy to help improve emergency response, officer effectiveness and public and officer safety.

Key survey findings reveal a strong demand for technology solutions that provide advanced situational awareness to first responders, improve incident coordination, and streamline emergency response. A top concern of first responders nationwide is their ability to react to natural disasters (65%), superseding both terrorist attacks (7%) and crime (10%). Regional fire and police officials dually note that advanced communications technology ranks as the most critical aid in preparedness and response both now and in the future.

Carville Doubts, Hillary Dodges, McAuliffe 'More Confident Than Ever'

Three voices of the Clinton campaign, three distinctly different takes on its fortunes. James Carville is candid about the pickle Hillary's in. Hillary, true to form, utterly evades the question. Ah, but there's always Terry McAuliffe. The proud graduate of the Baghdad Bob School of Flackery this morning declared that he's "more confident than he's ever been" about winning the nomination.

Carville, appearing on last night's Larry King, couldn't have been more succinct. LARRY KING: If Hillary loses Texas or Ohio, is it over?

JAMES CARVILLE: Yes.
